WHAT IS YOUR PASSION?

As a child you may remember asking yourself "what do i want to be when i grow up?".  Well when are we going to grow up because i think 90% of adults still ask themselves this question.......
Some will go to school go to work put in a few years and realize they don't like it , others will never try anything.  I think the answer to this question is not a specific job title but more of a multiple choice question: A) SAD B) STRESSED C) LONELY D) HAPPY, Because nobody i mean nobody wants to do only one thing their whole life.

When somebody introduces themselves and say what do you do?  I really don't know what to say should i give them an extended list of what I'm doing now  or just say in between jobs. It makes me wonder what people want to hear , are they really that interested in the ways i make money or me.  I say different things every time because sometimes I'm an investor sometimes a blogger and sometimes well a vagabond.  So what is the answer to the question "what do i want to be when i grow up?'  Or the dreaded question "what is your passion".

Only a few lucky people know the answer to this question and maybe didn't figure it out until they were 70 or on there deathbed.  There are way's to accelerate this process , First if you think to much about it it's not your passion. You don't have to fulfill this passion for ever, for instance your thinking you won't like to do this in 20 years, and it has to GENUINELY make your heart race when thinking about it.  This can be almost anything professional baseball, acting , singing... Just pick one!  Set your goal , for example acting. Now what would you do first to fulfill this dream?  This is what I would do.

1)Pick the subject I want to work with. Go to borders, online and learn everything about the subject from it's history to present. Usually this can be done in book or several magazines.

2)Watch how to videos and actual movies and try to pick up on what makes one actor special from another.  Then imagine yourself doing these things in your mind over and over.

3) Look up acting classes at local universities, craigslist online. Go with an open mind.

4)Set a goal that you want to achieve nothing to long maybe in a month you want to start with auditioning.

5)Give it your all.  You didn't start these dreams as a child like many other professionals so you will need to catch up.  This may work to your advantage in many fields because you haven't developed any bad habits yet.

5)If 3 weeks into acting you realize you don't like it anymore then stop. Don't waste your precious time on something you have no more passion for.

6)Move onto your next dream... and proceed !

I believe this is one of the best ways to live a full and happy life.
Don't look for the golden grail your whole life, just do things that excite you.
Try to never be idle and go for everything you want.

Wow...Gary, you are so right about this topic. People DO want to know how you earn a living probaly more than having true interst in us...at first at least. I've spent many moments in airports with strangers asking me the question "what do you do?". I am one of the older people who haven't pinpointed down to one specific thing. I've learned I don't have to. If I am responsible and pay my own way in life then I have the right! I usually tell people I'm self-employed or sell real estate or sell on Ebay. Honest but general info. I do what makes me happy at this moment. I think when you take on too many material things and responsibilities...you have less choice for sure. I've rid my life of excess and have so much less stress and freedom to do ONLY what makes me happy.
This life isn't for everyone...because when you have young children they nedd a bit of stability don't you think?
